Rising singer-songwriter Somadina has always been one to create to the beat of her own drum. Since her debut on the music scene in 2018 with IHY– a melodic RNB track where she sings about an ex-lover that did her wrong — her music has always been a haven for raw emotion. Repping for the girls who love to #feelthings, she’s not afraid to channel her thoughts, questions and experiences into her sound, often encouraging her fans to do the same.
Speaking to FEMME MAG in an interview earlier this year, she references the importance of self-reflection to give way to music that is deeply personal and spiritual. It’s a vibe and it’s not one that can be easily replicated. With each release since 2018, she’s only gotten more confident in her uniquely Somadina sound and expanded her music arsenal to include a host of different music genres such as punk-rock.
In her recently released debut EP, ” Heart Of The Heavenly Undeniable (HOTHU)”, Somadina puts together an 11-track project that is brimming with texture, tone and tempo. She offers listeners a fusion of different musical elements, drawing on the skills of some of the hottest talent in the industry right now.
From the likes of Grammy-nominated Soft Glas & GMK and vocals from Neo-Soul talent Chi Virgo, Highlife band The Cavemen, and rising singer L0la, HOTHU prompts listeners to break free, fuck shit up and take up space. It’s a musical space for questions and answers, but most importantly about the importance of listening to yourself and connecting to your highest purpose.
